Reality:
Tennis is pretty expensive.
Tennis has a steep learning curve.
Understanding what it takes to improve, and the practicality of getting there, requires genuine mentorship and coaching.
Socializing is awesome and is a big draw for bringing people together for tennis, but:
Bringing people together is not easy (see: why tennis clubs exist).
Solutions:
Make tennis affordable.
Ease tennis’ learning curve through legitimate, academy-style instruction.
Educate players, parents, and the community on opportunities (competitive and otherwise) that exist in tennis, and the college tennis pathway.
Foster a grassroots community that plays and learns together, while developing new ways for people to gather and play.

Solutions in mind, HCTA’s mission is Engaging Aptitude Through Tennis
Aptitude is what you’re born with. Your natural ability.
Be that as it may, the emergence of one’s true aptitude hinges on community and mentorship, along with a discipline by which to practice.
That discipline need not be your aptitude, but through mentorship and medium, anything taught and exercised well can bring out the best in oneself, and guide one to find what and where their best is.
HCTA’s discipline is tennis. What aptitude will it bring out in you?
